Louisiana Shoppers Shocked as Man Swims in Store Fish Tank

A man who swam in a large indoor fish tank at a store in Bossier City, Louisiana, on June 25 is facing a criminal damage charge, local news said.

Footage of the incident was captured by shopper Treasure McGraw, who was spending the day with her family at the Louisiana Boardwalk shopping center.

She told Storyful she was “admiring the fish” in the tank at Bass Pro Shops when she noticed “a big splash” and saw a man swimming in the tank.

“The guy was shouting and celebrating that he was doing something that everyone always wanted to do,” McGraw said. “He jumped out of the tank, leaving his mask and hat behind, and ran through the store and out of the door. His shoes were squeaking with every step.”

The swimmer was named locally as Kevin Wise, who was recording a series of clips for his own TikTok account, where he urged his followers, “Hook me up now – go viral.”

Wise appears to have been undertaking the Bass Pro Challenge, which has seen a number of people enter Bass Pro stores and take a dip in fish tanks.

Later, Wise added a video saying he’d been charged and given a court summons date by police. He started a GoFundMe to cover the costs of the fines he was facing. Credit: Treasure McGraw via Storyful
