Amy Hart has revealed she's successfully managed to freeze her eggs.

It comes over a year after the Love Island star first publicly announced her intention to do so as "insurance" incase she experienced an early menopause.

The former flight attendant appeared on Thursday's Loose Women where she shared she was "relieved" it had worked after going through two failed rounds.

"I’ve got five in the freezer," she said. "They managed to grab another four more, which were a little on the small side. But if they progress in the next few days, then they’ll be able to put those in the freezer as well."

Hart, 27, explained why she had decided to go through with the process in her late 20s.

"My mum and my nan and my auntie all had their children when they were 25 and all went through the menopause in their early 40s.

"I went for a fertility MOT and all the results show that I’m heading for that same timeline. My eggs now are obviously a better quality than they will be in a year, two years, three years.

"I would have loved to have frozen earlier, unfortunately the legislation at the moment is they can only be frozen for 10 years. So you’ve got to get it right in that you get the better quality eggs to freeze, but then you don’t sell yourself short for how long you can use them for,” she explained.

While she is open to the prospect of finding love, Hart added that if she were to go ahead and raise a child without a partner she has an "amazing" support network around her.

In a follow-up post to Twitter she thanked followers for their well-wishes.

Hart appeared on the 2019 instalment of Love Island where she was coupled with Curtis Pritchard before she left the show of her own accord.
