Love Island star Chris Hughes accuses contestants of faking romances

Former Love Island star Chris Hughes has hit out at this year’s islanders, suggesting they are all faking their romances.

Amy and Curtis are believed by some to be the strongest couple of the batch, with Amber and Michael also in a pair, Yewande and Danny and Tommy and Molly-Mae too.

Lucie and Joe and Anton and Elma were split up last night after viewers voted to send Joe and Elma home after the couples were voted the least compatible by their fellow islanders.

Unconvinced by the romances, Hughes – who dated Olivia Attwood during the 2017 series – tweeted: “I literally don’t think ANYONE is into ANYONE on this whole show. Thoughts? #lovelsland.”

Fans disputed his claims, with many insisting “super cute couple” Amber and Michael are “legit”.

Amy and Curtis have recently faced accusations that their relationship is fake. The pair coupled up in week one and this week revealed they had joined the “Do Bits Society” – the name of the secret club islanders can join when they have taken their romance to the next level in the bedroom.

Curtis was caught wiping his mouth on Tuesday night’s episode after Amy kissed him, leaving many to comment on their alleged compatibility.

“Yeah that Kiss #Curtis did after being saved. That ain't the actions of a man into his girl,” one wrote. “I’ve seen a few thing’s now that tells me. He just ain’t that into her #Amy. Next..!!!!”

Another viewer wrote: “Curtis is totally playing the game and isn’t into Amy at all.. the way he wiped amy’s kiss off said it all .. #LoveIsIand.”

A third commented: “What she has going on with Curtis is also beyond fake. There is zero compatibility or chemistry. Her act is becoming tedious I sussed her out from day one. Get her &Curtis out.”

Love Island is on ITV2, tonight at 9pm
