Love Island star Kem Cetinay has said he warned Chris Hughes to avoid a run-in with Katie Price hours after the pair’s Twitter feud turned explosive.

Cetinay, 21, said he told Hughes, 22, to not publish screenshots of the Whatsapp messages Price had sent to him, telling his friend that he would have a “battle” on his hands.

“Honestly I was saying ‘Chris don't do it!’,” he told The Sun.

Speaking about the moment he saw the published tweet, he added: “I was sitting there I was like ‘Chris have you done it?’ and he was like ‘yeah I’ve done it’.

“When he done it in the beginning I was like ‘cor Chris you've got yourself in a battle here’.”

Hughes and Price became embroiled in a public feud after she denied sending him flirty messages, before he proceeded to tweet them out.

Their war of words reached new heights last night after the former glamour model is said to have revealed the messages she claimed Hughes sent back to her, in which he allegedly refers to his girlfriend Olivia Attwood as “fame hungry”.

Hughes, who has denied responding to Price’s messages, slammed her on Twitter, calling her a “rotten piece of s***” and “comical”.

In a now deleted foul-mouthed tirade he wrote: “I couldn't give a s*** who I offend anymore. I stand on my own and always will, I don't need people to get me.

“Katie Price you're a rotten piece of s***. Be a mother, by something respectful for everyone's sake. I showed your true colours, you couldn't live with it. You have 52 screenshots on Snapchat since I humiliated you? Comical.”

He continued: “I've get my whole account history from Snapchat and a media lawyer will f*** you up. No one deserves your s*** and I ain't one to take it. You f*** lives. You have MY number you can see I haven't ever sent you s***.

“You're washed up and you stink... Come on Jeremy Kyle you mug. Shaking my head the world created people like this.”

Hughes later explained that he deleted the tweets because they were “disrespectful to younger fans,” but insisted he “meant everything I said”.
