George Tasker and Mollie Salmon might not have found their life partners on Love Island - but their parents did, marrying just one month after meeting at the reunion show and making the pair step-siblings.

Both reality TV stars entered the 2022 series during Casa Amor, where a number of bombshell islanders are introduced as the male and female contestants are split up into separate villas for the week, with the aim of testing couples.

While Tasker and Salmon, both 23, had short-lived fame on the ITV2 dating series this summer, their parents have found lasting love after a whirlwind romance.

Rumours had begun flying that the former Love Island stars were now a couple after being spotted spending time together - something which had the potential to get awkward, given the truth of the situation.

Tasker decided the time was right to clear up the misunderstanding during a recent Instagram Q&A with fans.

He said: “So basically, absolute madness, my mum has married Mollie's dad.

“So now we are stepbrother and stepsister, which is mad.”

He added: “They met at the reunion about a month ago and since then got engaged and got married.”

It's the sort of fast paced relationship usually seen on TV dating shows, but some of the series' romance obviously rubbed off on their parents as they crossed paths during the reunion show where contestants are invited back to reminisce about events and air their issues.

Tasker had joked that he planned to break up winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti at the explosive reunion, but things took a much more unexpected turn when his mum and Salmon's dad, brought along as their guests, met and sparks flew.

During the Casa Amor week, Salmon stirred up trouble between the eventual winners by kissing Sanclimenti, while Tasker did his bit to cause chaos by sharing a bed with Cülcüloğlu.

He claims that they also shared a kiss, but Cülcüloğlu claims that nothing happened between them.
