Tommy Fury, Love Island star and professional boxer has surprised fans with an unexpected career move.

The 25-year-old, who found fame alongside fiancé Molly-Mae Hague on the ITV dating show in 2019, is set to make his acting debut.

Tommy will join Peaky Blinders actor Paul Anderson in a film titled 'The Debt Inherited', reports the Mirror.

The film, written by Niki Sheldrake and marking the directorial debut of Danny Sawaf, follows the story of two brothers entangled in a criminal underworld as they attempt to repay their late father's debts.

The key roles of Colin and Stanley are yet to be filled, but Tommy is set to portray a character named Johnny, one of Maggie's henchmen.

Paul Anderson, famed for his role as Arthur Shelby, will take on the character of Terry, described as "a womanising alcoholic who employs the brothers to stop his work colleague Dirk (played by Green Street's Leo Gregory) from exposing him to his wife as a cheat."

Director Danny Sawaf shared his excitement about the project, stating: "The script is operatic and the tone is a not-so-subtle cluster of neuroticism, dismay and quintessential British dark humour. It has universal themes of survival engulfed in a lurking Kafka-esque feeling of high-stakes and hysterical satire, with events unfolding in unimaginable ways. People die debts don't and I can't wait to bring this story to life."

Tommy also expressed his enthusiasm about joining the cast, saying: "THE DEBT INHERITED. PEOPLE DIE. DEBTS DON'T.

So excited to announce I'll be making my acting debut in - THE DEBT INHERITED. Great cast, cannot wait to start shooting. Massive thanks to @dannysawaf and @oceanastudios looking forward to working with you all."

Fans were left gobsmacked by the unexpected announcement, rushing to congratulate him on his new acting gig. One fan exclaimed: "Congratulations Tommy on acting career and making big moves that's what I'm talking about."

Another chimed in with: "Mate! ! This is mega! ! Buzzing for you! Can't wait for it."

A third remarked: "Just the beginning of something Great ! " Tommy also took to his Instagram Story to express his excitement, saying: "A massive goal of mine achieved.."

His fiancé Molly-Mae Hague, with whom he shares daughter Bambi, has not yet made any public remarks about his latest achievement.

This silence comes after fans expressed their worry when she seemed to overlook his birthday, not posting any celebratory messages online.

Earlier in the year, Tommy ventured into another new career path by writing a tell-all book, thus becoming a published author.

He's treading in the footsteps of Molly-Mae, who released her own book, 'Becoming Molly-Mae,' in 2022.
