Luke Littler has finally made good on his promise to take his friends to Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Resort.

After being recognised by Forbes as one of the top rising stars in sport, the darts star put his prize money to good use by treating his friends and girlfriend. The 17-year-old took his nearest and dearest to Blackpool on Saturday, April 13, days after being named in the Forbes 30 under 30 list for Sports and Games.

It comes after Luke said he would spend his PDC World Darts Championship winnings on the day out. Previously speaking to TalkSPORT he said: "All my friends are watching at home, we’ve always said we need to go Blackpool Pleasure Beach or Alton Towers so I think they will be looking at me like ‘you’re paying, Luke’ and I’ll be like, yeah, okay."

While Luke was ultimately beaten in the final by Luke Humphries, he still took home some money and has proven to be a man of his word. The Nuke spent the day enjoying Pleasure Beach’s world famous rides, including ICON, the 325ft Big One, and winner of the “best water ride in the world”, Valhalla.

Looking suitably soaked from Valhalla, Luke posted to Instagram a picture of himself and his girlfriend in ponchos, captioning it: "Wasn’t lying when they say you get soaked on Valhalla." Pleasure Beach Resort CEO, Amanda Thompson OBE, said: “During the World Darts Championship we told Luke we’d love to have him visit us win or lose, and he’s had plenty to be proud of since then.

"It was fantastic to see him on the cover of Forbes after being named in the 30 Under 30 Class of 2024, and even better that he wanted to celebrate by taking his friends to visit us. It doesn’t hurt that he chose to visit us over Alton Towers, either."

By finishing as runner-up in the PDC World Darts Championships, he bagged himself a whopping £250,000 in prize money. His two Premier League Darts night wins have earned £10,000 each for a combined £20,000.

So far in 2024, he has won the Bahrain Darts Masters and finished runner-up in the Dutch Darts Masters this year. With another six nights remaining, Littler will be hoping to tot up the points and be in the playoffs, where the overall winner takes home £275,000.

The Forbes’ 30 under 30 is a set of lists that recognises people under the age of 30 who are excelling in their field. Littler was chosen for the honour by a panel of judges including Sir Mo Farah and Fifa’s Chief of Women’s Football Sarai Bareman. Other notable names who made the list included footballers Jude Bellingham and Lioness Alessia Russo.
