Darts phenomenon Luke Littler issued a cheeky response to jeers from Liverpool after the Premier League Darts arrived at the M&S Bank Arena.

Littler, 17, was looking to continue his impressive rise in the sport as he looked to qualify for the finals at the O2 Arena in London next month. The Nuke entered night 13 in second behind reigning world champion Luke Humphries as the pair were locked in on level points after winning 15 matches each, only separated by Humphries' three night wins.

Gerywyn Price and Nathan Aspinall face Littler in the next two weeks and should the Warrington-born talent beat both of them, he will be on the verge of qualifying for the May 23 final in the capital. And he took a great stride towards doing so after beating the Welshman 5-3 in the first quarter-final.

The self-professed Manchester United fan hasn't been shy in goading Merseyside in recent weeks after the Red Devils locked horns with Jurgen Klopp's side in the FA Cup and Premier League. Littler couldn't help but aim a dig at Reds fans after Amad's late extra-time winner last month.

And in his Premier League debut in Liverpool, he was jeered by the crowd. Although, Littler had the perfect response to the critics as he signalled '2-0' with his hands after Everton's Merseyside derby win on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Speaking to Sky Sports, when asked about whether he might get 'stick' from the Liverpool crowd, he replied: "Like my manager said, expect the worst and if it's not that bad, I'll take it as a positive. Fans can't really take the banter but that's all I do have banter but no, I'll be looking to get a few more points on the board and hopefully guarantee myself at the O2."

"It was a good result for Everton," he replied to the outcome at Goodison Park.
