LW viewers slam Saira Khan for 'generalising' youth
The Loose Women panel tackled the always touchy and complicated subject of young people and employment today (November 20), and viewers weren't happy with one panellist in particular.
The panel were reacting to a story about the chip shop owner who said that they have had 14 employees not turn up for their first shift, which led to a debate over the system of job seeker's benefits, minimum wage jobs and unpaid work.
Do you agree with our Ruth? 'A lot of young people have a great sense of entitlement of what they should be doing when they start work.'

Saira Khan was unsympathetic towards young people, stating that she graduated from university during a recession, said that she applied for an unpaid job to get experience, took a low-paid job in a factory to pay rent, and didn't go on holiday until 21.
Viewers slammed her being 'out of touch' and 'generalising' the youth, while others questioned her story:
Saira i didn't go on holiday until i was 21 aww what a shame 🙄 some people can't afford to go on holiday at all #loosewomen

Saira always seems so aggressive 😫 #LooseWomen

So saira you graduated in a recession. So it wasn't 2008 then. More 1992. Which meant you got a grant and went to university for free. Sod right off #loosewomen

Remember when Saira Khan went to uni and it was free and people got grants? Not the same anymore but let's slag off those who have it worse, eh? #loosewomen

@loosewomen The sweeping prejudice shown by Saira Khan against working class people or those on benefits is seriously offensive. Well done Jane `Moore for understanding the real world. #loosewomen

Not going on holiday until she was 21. Wow. The hardship. I'm 25. Never been on holiday. Not even got a passport. Away to fuck #LooseWomen

Saira is so out of touch it’s unbelievable. #LooseWomen

So if you had to pay rent Saira Khan how did you do it without wages in voluntary job? #loosewomen
- HEY YOU! (@melodyscarlett) November 20, 2018
@loosewomen I really think Saira Khan should be made to apologise for her sweepingly prejudicial comments about working class and underprivileged people today and last week. Imagine if someone said sweeping negative things about Muslims #loosewomen

The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith later came on to talk about her new book, and when asked by the panel why young people didn't cook or bake as much as older generations, Prue said that it was because a lot of young people had to work so hard for little money nowadays.
