The 26-year-old beauty has become the latest celebrity to join the winter sports show, which will hit screens in January.

A source told The Sun: “It’s fair to say The Jump isn’t the most appealing show for celebs to appear on – especially if they have work lined up afterwards.

“Their talent list would be far more high-end otherwise. But there are some celebs who’ll do anything to increase their profile – even if it means a spell on crutches afterwards.”

The reality TV star will certainly have her work cut out as she is expected to be up against the likes of retired footballer Robbie Fowler, former rugby star Jason Robinson, Made in Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews, and models Caprice and Vogue Williams.

Lydia is set to follow in the icy footsteps of her ex-boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent – who she has dated on and off since they were at school – as he took part in the competition earlier this year.

Despite his best efforts, he was eliminated from the show just two weeks in.

Before Arg competed on the show, Lydia admitted she was worried he might break something.

She said at the time: “We’re a little bit nervous, because a lot of the contestants going on there are super-fit and Arg is probably the underdog, so let’s just hope he doesn’t break any bones!

While Arg escaped injury, several other competitors weren’t so lucky.

The last series saw gymnast Beth Tweddle break her back, Made in Chelsea’s Mark-Francis Vandelli fractured his ankle and Rebecca Adlington dislocated her shoulder.
