M4 closures and roadworks on major Wales routes announced for coming days

Closures and diversions will affect some major roads in Wales over the coming days. Most of the roadworks on important routes are taking place overnight to minimise disruption.

The works will affect key routes including the M4, the A470 and A40. Scroll down to see Traffic Wales' latest list of high-priority alerts for Wales' motorway and trunk road network.

• M48: eastbound, from J4 Rogiet Interchange to J2 Newhouse, resurfacing work will see the road closed with diversions in place from May 28 to June 1, from 8pm to 6am.

• A40: southbound, from Monmouth to the A449 Interchange, resurfacing work will see the road closed with diversions in place from May 28 to June 1, 8pm to 6am.

• A465: eastbound from Llandarcy to Neath, cyclic maintenance will see the road closed with diversions in place from May 29 to May 30, from 7pm to 6am.

• A465: both directions, from Dowlais Top to Cefn Coed, improvement work will see the road closed from May 31 to June 3, from 8pm to 6am, with a full closure at weekend.

• A483: both directions, from Ffairfach to Derwydd, resurfacing work will see the road closed with diversions in place from May 28 to May 31, from 8pm to 6am.

• M4: eastbound, at J37 Pyle, offslip will be closed for structural inspections from May 28 to May 30, from 8pm to 6am.

• M4: eastbound, at J40 Taibach, onslip closed due to electrical work with diversions in place from May 28 to May 31, 8pm to 6am.

• M4: westbound, from J42 Earlswood to J43 Llandarcy, emergency work will see the road closed with diversions in place on May 30 from 7pm to 11.30pm.

• M4: eastbound, at J43 Llandarcy, offslip will be closed for cyclic maintenance with diversions in place from May 30 to May 31, from 7.30pm to 2am.

• A465: both directions from Cefn Coed to Dowlais Top, improvement work will see the road closed with diversions in place from May 31 to June 1, from 8pm to 6am.

• A55: westbound, at J24 Faenol, offslip closed for cyclic maintenance with diversions in place from May 28 to 29, 8pm to 6am, and from May 30 to 31, 8pm to 7am.

• A55: westbound, at J33 Northop (Flint/Mold), onslip closed for cyclic maintenance with diversion in place from May 29 to 30, 8pm to 7am.

• A55: eastbound, at J24 Faenol, onslip closed for cyclic maintenance with diversion in place from May 28 to 29, 8pm to 6am.

• A55: eastbound, at J23A Pensarn, offslip closed for cyclic maintenance with diversions in place from May 30 to 31, from 8pm to 7am.

• A55: westbound at J23A Pensarn, onslip closed for cyclic maintenance with diversions in place from May 30 to 31, 8pm to 7am.

• A55: eastbound at J33 Northop (Flint/Mold), offslip closed for cyclic maintenance with diversions in place from May 30 to 31, 8.30pm to 7am.

• A44: both directions, Aberystwyth, maintenance work will see the road closed frpm May 31 to June 1, 8pm to 6am.

• A487: at Pentregat, Ceredigion, there will be a convoy system and resurfacing work on A487 in both directions from Pont Garrarreg Turnoff (Pentregat) to The Synod Inn (Synod Inn). Until June 30.

• A458: in Powys, there will be stop/go boards and roadworks on A458 near Parc Caradog. Until May 28.

• A474: in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, there will be temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A474 in both directions at Park Street. Until July 26.

• A470: in Merthyr Tydfil, one lane closed, northbound, due to roadworks on A470 Northbound from A4102 Swansea Road (Cyfarthfa Park Roundabout) to A465 Heads Of The Valleys Road (Cefn Coed Roundabout). Until May 30.

• A40: in Monmouth, Monmouthshire, one lane closed due to roadworks on A40 in both directions from A466 Dixton Road (Dixton Roundabout) to A466 (Monmouth Traffic Lights). Until May 31.

• A48: in Clase Road, Swansea, traffic taking turns due to gas main work on A48 Clase Road at Tirpenry Street. Until June 13.

• A40: in Narberth, Pembrokeshire, temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on A40 near A478 (Penblewin Roundabout). Until December 31.

• A4281: at College Road, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, narrow lanes due to water main work on A4281 College Road Southbound from The A4047 to Cemetery Road Roundabout. Until June 2.

• A4810: at Queens Way, Magor, Newport: temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on A4810 Queens Way between Llanwern Road and Green Moor Lane. Expect delays. Until May 31.

• A4240, Alexandra Road, Gorseinon, Swansea: temporary traffic lights due to gas main work on A4240 Alexandra Road at B4296 West Street. Until May 28.

• A4119: Coedely, Rhondda Cynon Taf, narrow lanes and speed restriction of 30 mph due to roadworks on A4119 at Ely Valley Road (CoedEly Roundabout). Expect delays. Until August 1.

• A458: Mallwyd, Gwynedd, temporary traffic lights due to electricity work on the A458 near the river bridge. Expect delays. Until July 3.

• A40: Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, temporary traffic lights due to telecoms work on the A40 near Haverfordwest Golf Club. Expect delays. Until May 30.

• B4562 St Mellons Road, Llanishen, Cardiff: temporary traffic lights due to roadworks on B4562 St Mellons Road in both directions near Church Road. Until June 7.

• Schooner Way, Cardiff docks: in both directions closed due to roadworks from Hemingway Road to Garthorne Road. Nearby, Hemingway Road eastbound closed due to roadworks from Schooner Way to Galleon Way. Until June 23.

• Churchill Way, Cardiff: Churchill Way closed due to roadworks from North Edward Street to Queen Street. Until June 30.
