Yahoo News MAFS star Matt Jameson opens up on split from Dan McKee
Married at First Sight UK star Matt Jameson has opened up about his break-up with Dan McKee, who he was with for two years before they split in December last year.
Matt and Dan were popular with fans as they were the show's first-ever same-sex couple and looked to be one of the partnerships that might go the distance. However, in a new interview with The Sun, Matt explained why they couldn't make it work.
"I loved Dan, I really did love him. It’s taken me ages to get over this because I was pretty heartbroken and there were so many factors to the relationship breaking down," Matt said.

"It’s really hard, especially because I uprooted my life to live in Northern Ireland [with Dan] and put 110 percent into it. I went on MAFS to meet someone to build a life with and have a family, so to see that wasn’t going to happen was upsetting," Matt said.
One of the issues of contention was the fact that Matt very much wanted kids and to be a dad as soon as possible. But Dan, who is 12 years Matt's junior, didn't have the same plans.
"It’s not that Dan changed his mind, it just became clear it wasn’t going in that direction. We were on different pages and wanted different things," Matt said, lamenting the fact that he is now "back to square one" in regard to dating and starting a family.

"I want to have a family and kids and be with someone who appreciates me and appreciates everything I bring to a relationship," Matt said.
"I’m putting pressure on myself because I’m 41 and want to be able to be a dad and do all of the things that a dad can do like run around playing football."
Married at First Sight UK airs on E4 in the UK. Married at First Sight Australia airs on Nine Network in Australia and E4 in the UK.
