Maida Vale robbery: Five arrests after armed moped gang raid north-west London jewellers

Five men have been arrested after a daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in north-west London.

Police scrambled to Maida Vale at around 5.12pm on Monday to reports of a group of moped riders armed with knives, a hammer and a crowbar targeting Amir Jewellery.

Pictures and footage from the scene show a group of men pulling up outside before they reportedly smashed into the shop.

Brave members of the public frantically chased two male suspects on foot and detained one nearby.

He was arrested before being taken to hospital for a minor injury. He has since been taken into custody, police said.

Two other male suspects were arrested by armed police near Camden Market shortly after.

At around 6.10pm, two males were arrested after a car was stopped in Fairfax Road in Kilburn.

All five have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and enquiries continue.
