Main road closure sends drivers on hour-long diversion

Drivers are facing a 31-mile diversion today due to the closure of a busy main road.

The A1065 is shut from today until Saturday for "highway improvement works" to take place.

The stretch of road is closed from the junction with Water End to the junction with Bodney Road in Hilborough.

The road closure will be in place the whole time the works are taking place but emergency access will be maintained.

A 31-mile diversion takes drivers into Swaffham, on to the A47, before joining the A1122 to Stradsett and then taking the A134 to Mundford.

One Network predicts the journey takes around an hour.
