Main road in Dorset to be closed for works

A ROAD between Dorchester and Sherborne is to be closed for maintenance works.

The A352 at Middlemarsh will be shut for the overnight works between its junction with B3146 and its junction with C45, a distance of approximately 4700 metres.

It will come into operation between 8pm and 5am on July 10.

It is anticipated that the works will be completed by July 15.

The order will enable RMS Ltd safe access to carry out asphalt preservation and lining works.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; A37 - A35 - A354 - A350 - A357 - A3030.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
