A WOMAN has been left fighting for her life after her mobility scooter was struck by a car. 

We previously reported emergency services were called to Main Street, Baillieston, at around 2pm on Friday, June 28 following a report of a crash involving a white Ford Fiesta and a mobility scooter.

The 58-year-old driver of the mobility scooter was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

She is said to be in a critical condition.

A 77-year-old man, who was driving the car, was taken to hospital for minor injuries.

The incident happened between Church Street and Edinburgh Road and the road was closed for around five hours.

An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash and police are appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: "I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible."
