The Mallorca Files: Season 3 of U.K. Detective Drama to Stream on Prime Video — Find Out When

Prime Video will take a fresh peek into The Mallorca Files this summer.

The streamer announced Thursday that it will be the Stateside home for the British detective drama’s third season, all eight episodes of which will drop Thursday, Aug. 8.

The first two Mallorca Files seasons — which aired on BBC One across the pond — are currently available to watch via Amazon’s free streaming service Freevee, but they are set to become available on Prime Video later this summer. (As reported in February, Amazon plans to shutter Freevee, and Freevee originals like High School and Primo have been cancelled in recent weeks.)

“We’re so excited to partner with BBC Studios and the producing teams to continue the escapist adventure of The Mallorca Files in an all-new season,” said Lauren Anderson, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of brand and content innovation. “Attracted to the chemistry of its leads solving interesting crimes in a gorgeous location, The Mallorca Files has a devoted fan base and there is no better way to celebrate the show than to offer the entire series on Prime Video to loyal fans and new viewers alike.”

Set on the Spanish island of Mallorca, the series follows ambitious British detective Miranda Blake (Elen Rhys) and her laidback German partner Max Winter (Julian Looman), who make up the perfect team — if only they could see it. According to the Season 3 logline, the new episodes will find Max and Miranda’s personal tensions and odd-couple partnership put to the test amid “high-stakes adventures, treasure hunts, arson, kidnappings and murders.”
