Man, in 50s, taken to hospital after being attacked near pub

A man is in hospital after being attacked near a pub in Blackpool.

It’s thought that the assault happened on Dickson Road, close to Ma Kelly’s in Blackpool, at around 11:15pm, Friday May 3.

A man, in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Officers are now appealing for information.

A police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for information after a man was hospitalised following a serious assault.

“The assault is believed to have happened on Dickson Road, close to Ma Kelly’s in Blackpool, at around 11:15pm, Friday May 3.

“A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with injuries, where he remains. Thankfully his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or changing.

“Enquiries have been ongoing since this was reported to us, but we are now asking for your help.

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, have CCTV or dashcam footage of Dickson Road between 11 and 11:15pm, or who may have seen a young man wearing a red polo shirt in the vicinity, who we would like to speak to in connection with this assault.
