Man, 71, dies after being shot inside car in Montreal restaurant parking lot

Montreal police are investigating the death of a 71-year-old man who was shot while sitting in his car in Montreal's Saint-Laurent borough Monday night.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. in the parking lot of a restaurant located on Marcel-Laurin Boulevard, near Thimens Boulevard.

The man was rushed to hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead.

No suspects have been identified.

The man's death marks the city's seventh homicide of the year.

A security perimeter was set up near the building housing the restaurant and a section of Marcel-Laurin was closed to traffic.
