Man Appears in Court Charged With Renting Apartment to Moscow Attack Suspect

A man has appeared in court charged with renting an apartment to one of the suspected perpetrators of the deadly attack on a Moscow concert venue.

Footage released by Zvezda News, a channel linked to the Russian Defense Ministry, shows the man, identified as Alisher Kasimov, in the dock on March 26.

The video also shows a distressed woman crying. Kasimov’s mother and other relatives were in court, Zvezda said.

Russian news outlet Interfax said the 31-year-old is a Kyrgyzstan native with Russian citizenship, who lives in the Krasnogorsk district where the attack took place.

The defendant told the court he was looking for tenants, and did not know about the suspects’ plans to carry out an attack, Interfax reported.

He was remanded in custody until May 22. Credit: Zvezda News via Storyful
