Apple fanatic changes his name to iPhone 7 to score a free mobile

A man has changed his name to iPhone 7 in order to win one for free.

Olexander Turin, 20, altered his name to “iPhone Sim (Seven)’ to secure one of the new devices in a competition.

An electronics store in Ukraine offered free iPhones to the first five people to legally change their names to the device.

Mr Sim Seven said he may change his name back if he has children.

He picked up his free iPhone 7 on Friday.

The iPhone 7 costs about £700 in Ukraine, while changing one’s name is less than £2.

Mr Sim Seven’s friends and family were initially shocked by his decision but eventually supported the idea.

His sister, Tetyana Panina, said “it was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it’s true”.

She added: “Each person in this world is looking for a way to express himself.

“Why not to do that in this way?”
