Man dies in Exeter city centre

A man died after reportedly falling from a balcony in Exeter this afternoon (Friday, May 10). Emergency services were called to Market Street/Mermaid Yard at around 2.30pm.

Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene but sadly the man was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed.

At the time of writing (6pm), emergency services remain at the scene. A witness told Devon Live that multiple crews attended the incident.
