Man dies following house fire near Maidstone

Firefighters are now reminding people to "stay safe" today

A man has died in a house fire near Maidstone. The incident happened shortly after 11.50pm on Friday night (April 26) in Robins Court, in Lenham.

Three fire engines attended the fire and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish it. Kent Fire and Rescue service (KFRS) has confirmed a man died at the scene.

Kent Police and SEAcamb were also in attendance. KentLive has approached them for further information.

A KFRS spokesperson said: "An investigation into the incident is underway, however the cause is believed to be accidental."
