Man dressed as gorilla still tackling London Marathon two days after it started
A man dressed as a gorilla was still battling to complete the London Marathon two days after it started.
Pictures emerged online of ‘Mr Gorilla’ after he was spotted quite literally crawling towards the finish line of the 42-kelometre race.
By Tuesday morning he had reached mile 10 and still had a long way to go in the annual competition that began on Sunday.
Fittingly, Mr Gorilla’s race was in aid of The Gorilla Organisation, which protects great apes in their natural habitat.
He had raised £1,220 for the cause, which is almost 70 per cent of his target, by early on Tuesday.
No more details about the man were known, but he had been documenting his journey to the finish line on Twitter.

Posting pictures of his race, he thanked those he passed by for their support and kept the public updated on his whereabouts.
Passers-by in the capital have also taken to social media with pictures of him as he makes his way on all fours.

Mr Gorilla wasn’t the only person to tackle the race in a peculiar way.
