Man left with life-changing injuries after multi-vehicle A1 crash

A man has been left with 'potentially life-changing injuries' following a three-vehicle crash on the A1. The incident happened near Long Bennington on Wednesday, June 26, with Lincolnshire Police now appealing for witnesses.

The force said that they responded to calls of a collision between a HGV, black Ford Puma car and black Mercedes-Benz C200 car. The incident took place on the northbound carriageway, at 11.49pm.

The road was closed overnight due to the incident, with it reopening at around 6.15am on Thursday morning. Lincolnshire Police confirmed that only one person was injured in the crash.

Lincolnshire Police said: "We are appealing for information and dashcam footage following a collision on the A1 that left a man with potentially life-changing injuries.

"At 11.49pm yesterday (Wednesday, 26 June), we received a report of a collision between a black Volvo 121 HGV, black Ford Puma car and black Mercedes-Benz C200 car, at Long Bennington, on the northbound carriageway.

"The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries. No one else involved in the collision was injured.

"The road was closed while emergency services attended and vehicles recovered. It was re-opened fully at around 6.15am today.
