Man rushed to hospital after three car crash near Canterbury

The A257 was forced to close in both direction near the village of Ickham

A man has been taken to hospital after being injured this afternoon (Saturday, June 22) in a multi-vehicle crash just outside of Canterbury. Emergency services were called to the scene on the A257 Wingham Road near the turn off for Ickham at 12.48pm.

Officers from Kent Police and paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service attended. A cordon was soon established, closing the road in both directions and resulting in heavy traffic in the surrounding area.

It has been confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the crash and one man sustained injuries. A spokesperson for Kent Police told KentLive : “Kent Police is currently attending a collision involving three vehicles on the A257 Wingham Road, Ickham.

“Officers were called to the scene at 12.48pm on Saturday 22 June 2024. The South East Coast Ambulance Service is also in attendance. A man has reported injuries and is being taken to a local hospital. Work is ongoing to recover the vehicles.”
