Man shot in both legs in west Belfast alleyway

A man is being treated in hospital after he was shot in both legs in west Belfast, police have said.

The victim, in his 20s, was attacked in a paramilitary-style shooting in an alleyway off Monagh Road, Turf Lodge, at around 10pm on Tuesday.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has appealed for witnesses.

It comes a week after a husband and wife were shot in the legs at their home in nearby Norglen Parade.

They were targeted after apparently attempting to protect their son from gunmen, the Belfast Telegraph reported.

A 21-year-old man was also shot in both legs in the Ardmonagh Parade area of west Belfast on 6 January.
