Man Strips Naked Before Court Then Sings ‘Born Free’ to the Judge

If you have been charged with disorderly behaviour in a hospital’s A&E department - it’s probably not the wisest move to strip naked in the police van on the way to court.

It is most certainly not advisable when you finally reach court, you proceed to sing the title song of the 1966 docudrama ‘Born Free’…to the Judge.

This was sadly the actions that 49-year-old Nicholas Roper from Youghal, County Cork decided to undertake when appearing at Londonderry Magistrates Court.

The BBC reported that Roper began his unwanted karaoke choice when asked if he would request bail.

Due to the fact Roper gave no clear response to this important question he will be remanded in custody till 20 July.

The Judge did make it clear that he was not refusing bail but that bail had simply not been applied for.

In addition, the County Cork resident refused to stat whether he was guilty or not guilty of committing the crime.

Just in case you were wondering, prior to this disastrous court appearance - Roper was clinically assessed by medical experts as fit to stand in court.
