Antony has seen the joint-biggest decrease in estimated transfer value across world football after his lacklustre Manchester United season.

Following a promising debut campaign with the Red Devils, the Brazilian winger struggled for form in 2023/24 - much the like the team as a whole for large spells. He produced just one goal and one assist in his 29 appearances in the Premier League.

Criticism of his performances has been rife. And they've naturally had an impact on his worth, which Transfermarkt now estimate at €25million (£21m) for the 24-year-old.

That's a €35m (£29.5m) decrease from July 2023, matched only by PSG and France's Randal Kolo Muani, who fell from €80m (£67m) to €45m (£38m) after his transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt last year.

Both Neymar, who missed most of the Saudi Pro League season due to an ACL injury, and Wesley Fofana, who's been suffering with the same issue at Chelsea, had a decrease of €30m (£25m).

Tottenham's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg follows them in fifth, with his value dropping €27m (£23m) from €45m (£38m) to €18m (£15m). After that comes Joshua Kimmich, Reece James, Joao Cancelo and another United player in Mason Mount, all with €25m (£21m) decreases.

Rounding out the top 10 is Marco Verratti with a €22m (£18.5m) drop. Antony's valuation is a far cry from the £86m that United paid to sign him from Ajax just two years ago.

Erik ten Hag lobbied for him to join him in Manchester, but it's a decision which currently looks destined to end badly for all parties, barring a serious turnaround next season. The Dutchman staying on as United boss likely helps Antony's cause.

He has been linked with the transfer exit door, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos team now taking control of recruitment. How long they give him to prove himself remains to be seen.

His efforts on the pitch have been interrupted by allegations of assault made by multiple women, including his ex-girlfriend, last year. He was placed on a brief leave of absence in September while cooperating with police inquiries, denying the claims against him.
