Police were called to Manchester Airport to escort a 'disruptive passenger' off an easyJet flight from Belfast International. The incident occurred shortly after the plane landed at Terminal 1, around 11.30pm on Sunday night.

Video footage obtained by the Manchester Evening News shows a man gathering his belongings before being escorted off the aircraft by officers. easyJet has confirmed that police were called due to a passenger's disruptive behaviour.

A fellow traveller on the flight reported that the man had been warned during the safety briefing before take-off that police could be called if he continued to disrupt proceedings.

The same passenger claimed that the man was informed he would not be served alcohol and was repeatedly warned during the short flight due to his 'shouting and swearing'.

"He made it unbearable," the eyewitness said. "He and some girls he was talking to just kept talking really loudly, swearing. They literally didn't shut up all flight. It was a bit of a nightmare. I was a bit surprised when the police got on but I thought it was fair enough really."

An easyJet spokesperson confirmed: "easyJet can confirm that flight EZY708 from Belfast to Manchester yesterday was met by police on arrival due to a passenger behaving disruptively onboard."

"easyJet's cabin crew are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time."

"Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously and do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard. The safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew is always easyJet's priority."

Greater Manchester Police were unable to provide confirmation on whether the man was arrested or any further details regarding the incident.
