Yahoo News The Manchester restaurants officially named in UK's Top 100 at National Restaurant Awards
Three Manchester restaurants have been named among the very best in the entire UK. A list of the Top 100 restaurants was announced by the prestigious National Restaurant Awards for 2024 on Monday night.
Acclaimed restaurant mana in Ancoats was the highest Manchester venue placed in this year's list - taking a spot at number 14. The restaurant, run by chef patron Simon Martin, mana is Manchester's only Michelin Star venue and is also the highest riser on the Top 100, up from 71 last year.

Mana was closely followed on this year's list by Higher Ground on New York Street which placed at 16, up from 51 last year. Run by Daniel Craig-Martin, Richard Cossins and Joe Otway, Higher Ground celebrates ‘regenerative farming and local produce’, with around 90% of the ingredients included in its menu sourced from the trio’s Cinderwood farm in Nantwich.
The only other Manchester restaurant to claim a place on the list was Ancoats favourite Erst, which came in at number 50. Since opening its doors in 2019 it has been heaped with praise from both national and regional press and was named Restaurant of the Year at the MFDF awards earlier this year.
Topping the Top 100 list this year for the first time in 12 years as the best restaurant in the UK is The Ledbury in London. It was one of seven restaurants in London in the top 10 while the Top 100 list as a whole was dominated by the captial with 53 in total.
The highest placed restaurant in the north is the acclaimed Moor Hall in Lancashire which comes in at number three. The Aughton venue holds 2 Michelin Stars and is run by head chef Mark Birchall.
The winners were announced on Monday, June 10, at a ceremony held at The Magazine London. The full list of the UK’s Top 100 Restaurants can be found on the National Restaurant Awards website.
Other northern venues making the list include Simon Rogan's L'Enclume in Cumbria at number 20, while it's near neighbour Heft in High Newton also claims a place at 57.
Forest Side in the Lake District also claims a place, as does the acclaimed Northcote in Lancashire.
Meanwhile Manchester newcomer Skof, which only opened days ago, was given the "One to Watch" award at the ceremony. It has been described as one of the most exciting new openings in Manchester for years as the debut restaurant from former L'Enclume executive chef Tom Barnes.
