Manchester United Lift Premier League Trophy

Europa League Roundup

Manchester United have got their hands on the Premier League trophy, while Manchester City have secured third place after the final day of the season.

City beat Bolton 2-0 to bag automatic entry to the Champions League at the expense of Arsenal, who drew 2-2 at Fulham.

United lifted the trophy at Old Trafford following their 4-2 win over Blackpool, which sent Blackpool down.

Chelsea finished second despite a 1-0 defeat to Everton in what could turn out to be Carlo Ancelotti's final game as manager.

The other big results included Wigan's 1-0 win at Stoke, which secured their place in the top flight next season, and Blackburn's 3-2 victory over Wolves, which saw both sides survive.

Tottenham's 2-1 victory to relegate Birmingham meant that Liverpool were unable to catch them in fifth and secure a place in the Europa League.

Liverpool ended up losing 1-0 at Aston Villa anyway.

There was an end-of-season thriller at St James' Park where Newcastle and West Brom drew 3-3.

Relegated West Ham bowed out in miserable fashion with a 3-0 home defeat to Sunderland.
