Manchester United team news: Paul Pogba starts Europa League Final vs Ajax; Wayne Rooney on bench

Paul Pogba starts to boost Manchester United in tonight's Europa League Final against Ajax, while captain Wayne Rooney returns to the bench.

Pogba - whose father Fassou Antoine passed away in mid-May - played 45 minutes of United's 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season.

The £89million midfielder had missed United's previous two games due to his father's death, but the impressive cameo against Palace - during which he scored and assist another for Josh Harrop - was enough to convince Jose Mourinho that he is ready for the Red Devils' biggest game of the season.

Sergio Romero keeps his Europa starting role over first-choice goalkeeper David De Gea, though there is no room from Rooney in what could be the United skipper's final game at the club.

Man Utd XI: Romero, Valencia, Smalling, Blind, Darmian, Herrera, Fellaini, Mata, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Rashford
Subs: De Gea, Fosu-Mensah, Jones, Carrick, Martial, Rooney

Ajax XI: Onana, Veltman, Riedewald, Sanchez, Traore, Klaassen, Younes, Schone, Ziyech, Dolberg, De Ligt
Subs: Boer, Tete, Westermann, De Jong, Van de Beek, Kluivert, Neres

The match will define United's season after they finished a disappointing sixth the Premier League, with the Europa League winners earning an automatic Champions League qualification spot for next season.
