A man's "distinct aroma" saw police stop and search a man in the centre of Rhyl. Officers were on foot patrol in the seaside town over the weekend.

On Sunday they stopped a man due to the smell coming from him. He was searched and suspected drugs were found on him.

Police say he will now have "questions to answer".

North Wales Police said: "Today (Sunday) officers have been conducting routine foot patrol in Rhyl town centre. Officer from our Neighbourhood policing team soon noticed a male who drew officers attention due to a distinct aroma coming form his person.

"The Neighbourhood policing team in conjunction with the Clear Hold Build team detained this male under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and seized the below pictured items.

"The male will now have some questions to answer following this proactive stop by our officers."
