A new map of the Red Arrows planned route for the King’s Birthday celebrations on Saturday (June 15) shows the jets will fly in formation just a mile from the Surrey border close to Stanwell and Stanwell Moor. It means fans of the iconic aerobatic display team can find a place to watch the flypast minutes from home.

The map also reveals the best place to watch the Red Arrows as they fly from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle via Heathrow Airport. Airspace restrictions are in place for much of the route as the aircraft fly from the North Sea across Essex, London, and to Berkshire.

The King’s Birthday Flypast will fly as low as 2,500ft above the capital and East London. The flypast is scheduled to reach Buckingham Palace at 1.06pm, Heathrow at 1.09pm, and Windsor Castle at 1.10pm.

The Red Arrows will then tilt their wings and fly north towards Lincoln and RAF Waddington where the team will start and end the day. People in the north of Surrey will have the chance to look skywards to see the flypast or enthusiast can hop in teh car a short distance to catch the display team further along the flightpath.

Other aircraft in addition to the Red Arrows that will be involved in the flypast have not yet been confirmed but a rehearsal flight on June 3 is understood to have involved a C-17 Globemaster, Chinooks, and Typhoons, according to Military Airshows. A full list of the aircraft involved in the rehearsal can be found here.

Tradition dictates His Majesty’s birthday - though actually in November - will be marked at Horse Guards Parade with Trooping the Colour. This will involve more than 1,500 service men and women and around 300 musicians and dates back to the 1700s, according to the Army.

The Birthday Flypast famously traces The Mall where crowds gather during the celebrations. The King’s Birthday Parade will also be broadcast live on the BBC. The full planned schedule for the Red Arrows on the King’s Birthday Flypast has been outlined below.
