Marilyn Manson hospitalised after stage set fell and crushed him mid-concert

Marilyn Manson was rushed to hospital midway through his New York concert last night after he was crushed by his stage set.

The star was performing at the Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom when the huge prop fell on top of him after he seemingly attempted to climb it whilst performing a cover of Eurythmics ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)’.

After putting just one foot on the structure, which was shaped like two guns, it toppled and fell directly on top of him.

Concertgoers caught the moment on camera, with the stage crew battling to free Manson from the prop.

The rocker was about 45 minutes into his set when the accident took place, with his band continuing to play for several seconds before they noticed that Manson had become stuck.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, witness Michelle Curran shared: “He was probably half way through singing sweet dreams by the Eurythmics and the massive gun display of two pistols behind him toppled on to him.

“The singing stopped and loads of people ran on to the stage to lift to it up.”

Roadies reportedly put a dropcloth over the podium and the house and stage lights remained down for “several minutes” before an announcement was made to say that the concert was cancelled “due to injury”.

The singer’s rep said in a statement: “Manson suffered an injury towards the end of an incredible NYC show. He is being treated at a local hospital.”

A source close to the star added to Variety that Manson “should be fine” following the accident.
