Mariska Hargitay Reveals Her Daughter Sang a Taylor Swift Song at Her 60th Birthday Party: 'Such a Surprise'
"My kids don't sing. They've never sang in public, so I had no idea," Hargitay shared
Mariska Hargitay's family has a lot of love for Taylor Swift.
On Thursday, the actress appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed what her husband, Peter Hermann, 56, did to celebrate her 60th birthday on Jan. 23.
Hargitay recalled how Hermann "threw me a surprise party that was so amazing," admitting she usually isn't a fan of surprises.
"He just outdid himself, it was insane. He threw me a party and it was so magical and spectacular. The highlight was each one of my children sang to me," the Law & Order: SVU star said. "It was so crazy."
Hargitay's oldest son August, 17, was up first and sang "Blue Bayou" by Linda Ronstadt — which is one of his mom's favorite songs — and "Blue Christmas," which is an "inside joke" they have.
Hargitay's 12-year-old daughter Amaya then sang Swift's "Long Live" for her mom's special day.
The actress explained how her youngest son Andrew, 12, went for a heavier song and belted out "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne.
"It was so nuts. Here's the thing, I didn't know about it. My kids don't sing. They've never sang in public, so I had no idea. So this was such a surprise," Hargitay shared.
"One of the other highlights, I turned around and Ice-T is standing on the table [rocking out] and then he was heard saying 'I toured with Ozzy and that kid sounds good.' "
The actress added, "You can't get a better endorsement."

That wasn't the only time Hargitay spoke about Swift in her Tonight Show interview.
Fallon brought up the "Love Story" hitmaker famously naming her cat after Hargitay’s Law & Order: SVU character, Olivia Benson.
“It was such a sweet honor and I think she loved SVU and I think she loved Grey’s Anatomy,” Hargitay said. “So she named one after me and one after Ellen Pompeo.”

“But then, here’s what’s even cooler. Then you got a new addition to the family you got a cat,” Fallon continued. “You got a siamese cat and the cat’s name [is] Karma,” he added as he held up a photo of the pet, who was named after the song of the same name from Swift's Midnights album.
“There was no other name for this cat, " Hargitay insisted. “And she’s such a Karma. She’s so perfect and aptly named and it’s just right.”
“You posted that and then Taylor responded and said, ‘Are you serious? Nothing has ever come more full circle. Love this so much!” Fallon then explained.
"That was a thrill," Hargitay replied.
