When Mark Hamill returned to the Star Wars universe for The Last Jedi, he wasn't just there to play Luke Skywalker.

Eagle-eyed fans will have noticed that the iconic actor is listed in the movie's credits as playing a second role – a certain Dobbu Scay.

But who in the name of Ahch-To is Dobbu Scay?

When asked about the role by Entertainment Weekly, Hamill replied: "I don't know what you're talking about.

"I'm not telling. I like playing the mystery of it all."

However, after a little more pressing, Hamill admitted that his mysterious second character features in the movie's Canto Bight casino scene.

Explaining that he asked director Rian Johnson for the role personally, Hamill continued: "I said I'd love to do a CGI thing, and he said sure.

"And I got to go to the set of the casino and see in detail 150 extras in jaw-dropping costume."

But if you thought Dobbu Scay's name was just "some Scrabble tiles" thrown together – as Hamill did – there's actually a deeper meaning... it's an anagram for editor Bob Ducsay.

The latest entry in the Star Wars series was released last week and is already dominating the box office in both the UK and the US.
