Mark Labbett's ex reveals split details including '3-minute' phone call

Mark Labbett's former partner has labelled their split as a "low move" while discussing the true cause of their separation. Entertainment reporter Hayley Palmer and The Chase celebrity, known as 'The Beast', recently celebrated their one-year anniversary but parted ways last month.

She has openly expressed being "heartbroken" by their separation and indicated that she was "blindsided" by the news. Hayley has alleged that Mark ended their relationship with a brief three-minute phone call, and she hasn't had any contact with him since.

Mark, born in Tiverton, has not publicly commented on the breakup. In a recent interview, Hayley suggested that the underlying reason for their split was Mark's refusal to divorce his wife Katie, with whom he has a son.

Hayley confessed her confusion over the situation, noting that they had just commemorated their first anniversary on May 16 with a beach outing in Southsea, Hants, which was reminiscent of their first date, followed by a dinner. They had also appeared on ITV's Loose Women shortly before the breakup, discussing their relationship and plans to move in together.

In a conversation with The Sun, Hayley recounted receiving a sudden phone call from Mark, 58, terminating their romance, allegedly because he did not desire a divorce. She shared: "The phone went from my hands, I just hung up on him. I ended up walking around for three hours not knowing where I was going."

Hayley continued: "He'd already suggested that we move in together, and it was a risk I was willing to take because I really loved him and believed we had a future together."

Reflecting on the emotional turmoil, she revealed: "Everyone who knows me knows I'm the happiest person, and very positive. I didn't even want to get out of bed. I've not been in a good place at all. Thankfully I've got a lot of good people around me and they've helped me through it."

Mark had previously separated from his estranged wife Katie, 31, who is also his second cousin. The pair had an open marriage for about 18 months before their separation in 2020.

He later met Hayley at the National Television Awards in September 2022. When contacted by Express Online, representatives for Mark Labbett chose not to comment.
