Wahlberg has been married to his wife Durham, 45, since August 1, 2009. The couple met in New York City in 2001 and welcomed three of their four children prior to getting married. They later announced they were expecting their youngest child, in October of that same year.

The actor last shared a photo of himself posing with his wife and children when he shared a few throwback photos featuring Durham and his late mother, Alma Wahlberg, who died in 2021 at age 78, in celebration of Mother's Day in May. In April, Durham shared a photo of her and Mark posing with their sons Michael and Brendan in which both sons appeared to stand taller than their parents.

The Boogie Nights star most recently appeared on the big screen in the adventure film Arthur the King, in which he portrays an extreme athlete who forms a bond with a stray dog during a significant endurance race in the Dominican Republic. The movie is based on Swedish extreme athlete and author Mikael Lindnord's 2017 book Arthur: The Dog Who Crossed The Jungle To Find A Home.

Wahlberg has two more movies set to release in 2024, titled Flight Risk and The Union, according to his IMDb page. The actor teamed up with director Mel Gibson for Flight Risk, which Variety described as a thriller in which Wahlberg portrays "a mob hit man who tricks a federal agent into allowing him to pilot a plane carrying an informant out of a remote area" following the debut of its trailer at CinemaCon 2024. Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace costar in the movie, set for release on Oct. 18.

In The Union, Wahlberg teams up with Halle Berry; a synopsis for the film on Netflix's Tudum website describes it as an action film following the two stars as former high school sweethearts who are reunited when Berry's spy character Roxanne recruits Wahlberg's Mike to join her on a mission. That movie begins streaming on Netflix Aug. 16.

On top of those two projects, Wahlberg also recently produced the documentary MoviePass, Movie Crash, tracking the rise and subsequent fall of the movie theater subscription service MoviePass. That film is streaming on Max now.

While speaking with Cigar Aficionado back in September 2023, Wahlberg suggested he may not work as frequently moving forward. “I don’t think that I’ll be acting that much longer at the pace I am now," he said at the time, adding that he is "certainly working harder now than ever."
