Grujic previously rejected the opportunity to rejoin Cardiff City on loan having enjoyed a productive half-season stint in South Wales last term.

The 22-year-old also turned down overtures from Championship outfit Middlesbrough, while Liverpool dismissed Torino’s attempts to strike a temporary deal containing a €10m option to buy.

But, after receiving assurances over playing time and tying Grujic down to a new deal, Liverpool have allowed the midfielder to depart.
