Marks and Spencer salad has more calories than McDonald's Double Big Mac

A Marks and Spencer salad contains more calories and fat than a McDonald's Big mac burger, it has been revealed. The £3.90 cheeseburger pasta salad contains beef meatballs, Red Leicester cheese and burger sauce mayo.

The meal contains 755 calories - more than the 493 calories in a McDonald's Big Mac. It even has more calories than a Double Big Mac which contains 694.

The pasta salad is part of Marks and Spencer's new Viva Summer range. It contains 33g of far compared to 24g in a Big Mac burger, the Sun reports.

One person wrote of the salad: "755 calories though. You could have the real thing." Another said: “What are they trying to do to this country?"

An Instagram user commented: "Any one else sick of seeing cheeseburger everything? Pasta, tacos and pizza all sound rank." However one person was keen to try the pasta salad.

They wrote: "Keep trying to get this but it’s out of stock!!" "Wow. That’s mad isn’t it!" another person said.

A spokesperson for M&S said: "Our food-on-the-move range includes healthy lunch choices across salads, pasta salads and sandwiches which are highlighted by our Eat Well flower on packs."
