Married at First Sight UK star Morag Crichton has accused husband Luke Dawson of "lying through his teeth" during the recent reunion episode.

The pair reunited in the one-off special over the weekend, revealing they were no longer together amid some tense exchanges, including Luke alleging that Morag faked her vows for the sake of a TV show.

"I was so shocked by the man that was at the reunion, I didn't know who that person was," Morag told MailOnline. "He switched and he even said he lied about saying he loved me, and nobody picked up on that.

"Everyone still thought he was this nice guy, and I was like he must be joking? I was shocked.

"He sat there and said I'm not genuine but then he said he didn't actually love me anyway; I was like hang on a minute. Everyone believes he's this nice guy and he can't do anything wrong.

"It was inevitable that Luke and I were going to breakup but that's not what I wanted," she continued. "I wanted it to work, and I was serious when I was doing my final vows. That was our best week ever, we were stronger than ever, and I was genuinely gutted."

Morag went on to say that Luke's accusation about her vows were "utter lies", adding: "My vows were real. He was referring to a telephone conversation that happened when I was ending the relationship.

"He said that apparently I said 'it was only a TV show', which was utter lies. He sat there and lied through his teeth on that sofa, which is why I was shocked and I couldn't get my words out. I was flabbergasted and I didn't know who that person was.

"When I was ending the relationship, I knew it wasn't going to be easy so I tried to diffuse the situation and said 'look, we aren't actually married, we're not officially a couple really so we're going to be two people that tried in an experiment and unfortunately it's not worked' and that's what I said and he was hurt and took it completely and utterly the wrong way.

"I was open and honest and apparently that wasn't good enough. Nice guys can still make mistakes and nice guys that sit there and say they're nice guys aren't always nice guys."

Luke himself spoke out following the reunion episode, writing in an Instagram post: "It's been hard to not say a thing, respond to all kind messages and thoughts and comments.

"I've learned so much. But my story has not ended here. I will try to do good things for so many people with a small platform in hope of moving forward from this experience and couldn't be more grateful.

"Met some friends for life. But for now I'm going to try and sleep for the first time in months. Thank you."
