Martin Lewis has explained why now is the best time to check your energy bill direct debits to see if you are owed money.

The financial guru appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday 8 May to offer his expert advice.

The Money Saving Expert founder explained: “When we come into May our energy usage drops which is why now is a good time to check whether you are in credit and if you should claim it back or reduce your monthly payments.”
