Martin Lewis's fans have been cashing in on a simple trick that has seen them pocket an extra £575, with one even securing a free holiday. The financial guru and TV personality, known for his appearances on ITV and BBC, has shared how "anyone" can benefit from this tip amid the ongoing Cost of Living crisis.

On the summer special of his ITV programme, Martin discussed various bank switching offers. A viewer named Pauline took advantage of these deals, completing three switches to amass £575. She used her windfall for a four-night getaway to Krakow, exclaiming, "Free holiday!"

Pauline expressed her gratitude towards Martin: "Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Martin for the bank switching information on his show. I did three bank switches and got £575, I used the cash on a long-awaited four-night break in the beautiful city of Krakow. Free holiday!"

She also thanked him again for the valuable advice. Among the offers highlighted was the Santander Edge account, which provides a FREE £175, 7% easy-access savings, 1% bills cashback, and a top overseas debit card, reports Birmingham Live. Additionally, Lloyds and First Direct have their own separate incentives for new customers, as do Nationwide and TSB.

The website Money Saving Expert, founded by Mr Lewis, details further benefits: "As well as the free cash, for a £3/month fee, switching to the Santander Edge account* can net you a total of £20/month cashback: 1% back on energy, council tax, broadband, TV, mobile and water bills (max £10/month) and 1% on supermarket, fuel and train spending (max £10/month).

"There's also a linked saver that pays 7% on up to £4,000 for the first year maxed out, this pays around £270/year interest. Plus, the Edge debit card also has no foreign exchange fee when you spend abroad, so you get the same near-perfect exchange rate as the bank does.

"Got high bills and/or high supermarket/travel spend? The Santander Edge Up could be worth a look. It gives up to £15/month back in both categories so £30/month total though there's a higher £5/month fee and you can't open the 7% saver with this account.

"You can't have ever had a switch bonus from Santander before, and you must be switching from a non-Santander, Cahoot or Cater Allen account."
