Martin Lewis supported over new BBC role and he's 'slightly bricking it'

Martin Lewis has been supported as he landed a new BBC role - and admitted he was "bricking it". The ITV The Martin Lewis Money Show, Good Morning Britain and This Morning regular spoke out on Twitter, now X, today (Thursday).

Mr Lewis wrote: "Just arrived in my dressing room for #Hignfy - about to go in to a script meeting. As presenter I'm here all day. The panellists arrive at 6pm. Slightly bricking it but hope it'll be fun." Mr Lewis will be a Have I Got News For You guest host tomorrow (Friday).

On hosting for the first time, Martin says: "I've been a fan of the show since it started, just after I left school, but can't pretend there isn't a tinge of terror mixed in with excitement at the thought of presenting it, especially trying to keep Paul and Ian in line. I may have to resort to threatening to destroy their credit scores."

The new BBC episode, which will air at 9pm on Friday 26th April, will feature Spanish and Welsh comedian Ignacio Lopez as one of the guests appearing alongside Ian Hislop and Paul Merton. The other guest has yet to be confirmed.

The broadcaster and financial journalist, who is a Money Saving Expert founder, has been lined up to take charge of the Friday 26 April. It will be the fourth episode in Series 67, which started earlier this month. In reply to Mr Lewis' tweet today, a fan said: "You will be fine.

"Enjoy it." "Oh wow, this'll be good then," a second said. "Good luck and don't hold back!," a third typed. "Good luck! I still enjoy HIGNFY even after all these years," another said. Another said: "Best wishes Martin! It'll be a breeze I'm sure."

"You'll smash it," another reckoned.
