Martin Platt makes his big Coronation Street return
It finally happened. After 13 years away from the cobbles, Sean Wilson made his big return to Coronation Street as David Platt's dad Martin.
Tonight's episode (March 22) saw David (Jack P Shepherd) make the spontaneous choice to turn up at his dad's in Liverpool as he wonders whether to confide in Martin about what he's been through after being raped by Josh Tucker.
"You can tell me who's upset you." - Martin

With Martin planning to emigrate to New Zealand, David's visit with his dad got him thinking about his own future in Weatherfield, later telling girlfriend Shona that he thinks they should move to New Zealand too, which doesn't exactly go down well with the rest of his family.
But while it may not have been the happy storyline we would have liked to have seen Martin return for, having Martin Platt back on screens was a much welcomed blast from the past for many viewers.
Welcome back Martin. So good to see you. #Corrie
