Yahoo News Marvel's New Warriors casts its Squirrel Girl
We have some news about the upcoming Marvel series New Warriors – and we think you're going to go nuts over it.
Yep, the legendary Squirrel Girl has finally been cast, and This is Us' Milana Vayntrub has been chosen to star as our first ever live-action Squirrel Girl in the new show (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Sorry, Anna Kendrick.
Milana's "tough, optimistic" Squirrel Girl will lead the tribe of the New Warriors, as they train themselves to become Avengers-in-waiting.

Doreen Green (that's Squirrel Girl) has been described by Marvel as "a totally empowering fangirl" as well as "a natural leader", so it's safe to say that Milana is probably our new girl crush.
Gifted with all of the superpowers that squirrels naturally possess, Doreen is acrobatic and tenacious. Oh, and she can communicate with squirrels, too. Obvs.
But that's not all we've learned about the upcoming series – the remaining five warriors have also been cast.
Joining Milana are Baby Daddy's Derek Theler as Mister Immortal, Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher, Calum Worthy as Speedball, Matthew Moy as Microbe and Kate Comer as Debrii.
Marvel's latest TV recruits will be the focus of the 10-episode series, which has been billed by the comic book giant as the perfect show for your awkward inner-teenager.
"Marvel's New Warriors is about six young people with powers living and working together," the official synopsis reads.
"With powers and abilities on the opposite end of the spectrum of the Avengers, the New Warriors want to make a difference in the world… even if the world isn't ready.
"Not quite super, not yet heroes, Marvel's New Warriors is about that time in your life when you first enter adulthood and feel like you can do everything and nothing at once – except in this world, bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates."
Marvel's New Warriors will air on Freeform.
