Mary Berry is set to welcome some famous faces into her kitchen in a BBC Christmas special.

Mary Berry’s Christmas Party sees the former Bake Off judge prepare festive treats with stars including Strictly Come Dancing’s Darcey Bussell, presenter Fearne Cotton and Classic FM host Myleene Klass.

First up is reluctant cook and The One Show host Alex Jones, who makes rissoles with tinned corned beef and chopped onions – a dish she describes as “a bit World War Two”.

Former dancer Bussell is kept on her toes while helping to create a ballet-inspired pavlova for dessert. Despite insisting that she’s “really rubbish” she manages to help Berry add a finishing touch of chocolate to the meringue-based treat.

Later Berry and her kitchen assistants all crowd around a table to sample the yuletide centrepiece – a ginger-glazed ham.

Citizen Khan star Adil Ray also makes a special appearance, helping prepare canapés alongside Cotton who whips up stuffed squash.

Meanwhile Klass adds a touch of Christmas cheer by entertaining guests at the piano.

It’s not the only Christmas special Berry is hosting this year as she is also joining forces with former Bake Off presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins for Mary, Mel and Sue’s Big Christmas Thank You.

The show follows the trio as they throw a party for a deserving group of South Wales residents who have had a difficult year.

Mary Berry’s Christmas Party airs Monday, December 18 at 8.30pm on BBC One.
