Mary Elizabeth Winstead to star with Ewan McGregor in Paramount+ series A Gentleman in Moscow

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is set to co-star opposite her husband Ewan McGregor in Paramount+ TV series A Gentleman in Moscow.

The couple have been announced for the cast of the novel adaptation about an actor and the Count she may or may not have fallen in love with.

Winstead plays film star Anna Urbanova, glamorous and at the height of her fame, who appears to have fallen for Count Alexander Rostov (McGregor) who she dazzles with her wit and beauty.

Instant chemistry sizzles between the pair when they meet at the Metropol Hotel, where the Count has been banished to by a Soviet trial.

But Anna's real self is so well hidden by layers of acting techniques and mystery that it is impossible to know whether she has really fallen in love, or is simply playing her latest role.

The series is adapted from the novel of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Amor Towles and follows the story of the Count, who is confined to an attic room in the hotel as an alternative to execution after the Russian revolution.

He will be killed if he sets foot outside of the hotel, so as some of the greatest years of upheaval in Russia's history unfold, he is trapped watching it happen inside the hotel - where his path crosses with Anna's.

Winstead and McGregor married in April 2022 after meeting on the set of TV series Fargo in 2017. They have a son together, Laurie, who was born in 2021.

Birds of Prey and Kate star Winstead will also feature in the upcoming Disney+ TV series Ahsoka, the latest title in the Star Wars universe.

Paramount+ has also recently announced that new Kiefer Sutherland thriller series Rabbit Hole will premiere on 27 March.

It features Sutherland as a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, who is framed for murder by powerful forces who have the ability to influence and control populations.
